Dr. David H. Rhoades – Senior Pastor
David is from Fort Worth, Texas and was raised in a
wonderful Christian family that saw to it he was in church every time the doors were open! Thanks to his mom and dad, David can’t
remember a time in his life that he didn’t know about the amazing grace extended to him through Jesus Christ. Throughout his childhood,
he made steps toward faith. Accepting God’s gracious invitation to become His child at the age of 14 was the most natural thing in
the world.
A graduate of The Criswell College in Dallas, Texas, David went on to receive the Master of Divinity degree at New
Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and the Doctor of Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His doctoral project
was titled “The Preparation of Church Leaders to Equip Their Congregations for Ministry to Multiethnic Communities.”
Prior to
coming to Woodland Acres in 2006, David had a great time serving as the Senior Pastor of churches in Cincinnati, Lancaster (TX), and
DeQuincy (LA). David has led seminars for churches, colleges, and biblical meetings. He is the author of the book "Plowing the Fields:
A Fifty-Day Devotional Guide to Praying for the Lost" and the seminar "The Multiethnic Mission of Your Church.”
In 1992, David
married the love of his life, Amy. Amy serves as an echocardiographer at a hospital in Tulsa, and she has a passion for worship. David
and Amy have three wonderful children—Timothy, Jonathan, and Mindi.
When David isn’t working, you’re likely to find him hanging
out with family and friends or cheering on his favorite sports teams.
