A key distinction of Woodland Acres is our commitment to be a blessing to our community. Instead of inviting our community to give
us their time, their money, and their support, we have determined to give our community our time, our effort, and our support. This
is the heart of being a missional church.
Blessing God’s world directs our lives outward in our relationship to people who have
not yet trusted Christ. God loves lost people, and He calls us to love lost people. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16, NASB).
We believe that blessing
God’s world brings us joy and fulfillment. “Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. He who goes to and fro weeping,
carrying his bag of seed, shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him” (Psalm 126:4, NASB).
Blessing
God’s world means we join God already at work. God is not waiting for us to venture into the world. Jesus said, “My Father is working
until now, and I Myself am working” (John 5:17, NASB).
Blessing God’s world means that we show kindness to others. “God is kind
to you so that you will change your hearts and lives” (Romans 2:4, NCV).
Blessing God’s world means that we take our role in
the work of the harvest. Jesus said, “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest
to send out workers into His harvest” (Matthew 9:37-38, HCSB).
Blessing God’s world means that we use both our words and our
works. “God…reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation” (2 Cor. 5:17, NASB). Jesus “went about
doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38, NASB).
