Woodland Acres exists to help people belong to God’s family, the church. Belonging to God’s family directs our lives inward to other
members of the church.
Being a member of a church is important. God used many different words in His Word to describe the church:
- The
church is a fellowship. “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship…” (Acts 2:42, ESV).
- The church is
a family. “All of you should be in agreement, understanding each other, loving each other as family, being kind and humble” (1 Pet.
3:8, NCV).
- The church is a body. “So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another” (Rom. 12:5,
ESV).
- The church is a flock. Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27).
There are
two steps to becoming a member of our church:
- Receive Jesus Christ as Lord.
- Be baptized by immersion.
